Inaugural Season

Dear Anglers,

I am Mark Lassagne, and I want to extend my sincerest apologies while addressing an important issue that occurred during today’s weigh-in at the BAM Lake Oroville Pro-Am.

I have been made aware that the tournament scales, specifically the Pro Tournament Scales CS19—which is known for its accuracy and is legal for trade across all states—were reading lighter than expected. It’s pertinent to mention that this is the same high-quality scale we have confidently used in previous events without encountering any problems.

Before each day’s weigh-in, the scale was rigorously tested no less than 50 times, during which we detected no discrepancies or issues. However, it became evident during the event that the weight readings were consistently lower than expected this was across the board.

In light of this, I want to assure everyone that immediate steps are being taken to prevent such an occurrence from happening again. We will now implement the use of a backup scale. Additionally, the CS19 scale will be sent in for calibration and thorough examination. We will work closely with the scale manufacturer to understand the root cause of this issue and to ensure it does not recur.

As an angler myself, I understand the gravity of this situation and how it could potentially impact the fairness and outcome of the competition. Please know that I share in your frustration. Ensuring the integrity of our events is paramount, and I am committed to making certain this does not happen in the future.

Your trust and confidence in our tournaments are of the utmost importance to us. We value your participation and are dedicated to providing a fair and competitive environment. I am here to address any concerns or questions you may have regarding this matter.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Mark Lassagne
