LAKEPORT, Calif. – Christian Ostrander continues to dominate at the final stop of the 2024 BAM Tournament Trail Pro/Am at Clear Lake, delivering another impressive catch. Adding 32.48 pounds to his already remarkable Day One haul of 35.65 pounds, Ostrander extended his lead to nearly 14 pounds over the competition. With a staggering two-day total of 68.13 pounds, the Turlock, Calif. angler is positioned for a possible historic three-digit total as this three-day bass showdown continues at Clear Lake this fall.
Ostrander’s success has been bolstered by massive bass each day, with a 10.93-pounder on Day One and a 10.51-pounder on Day Two. Achieving a third consecutive 30-pound bag could hinge on landing another giant largemouth, a feat that would be extraordinary. Leading the top-10 going into the final day, Ostrander remains cautious.
“Saturday started off slow,” he admitted. “I only landed six fish all day,” Ostrander explained. “The morning started with two solid ones around four pounds, but then I had a three-hour dry spell. When I hit a prime spot, I hooked a 10, then a 7 ½, but after that, it was quiet for a few hours. Eventually, I caught a five-pounder and spent the rest of the day scouting water for Sunday.”
For Day Three, Ostrander plans to use an LV, crankbait, and jig. While he’s already on track for victory, another 32-pound bag would propel him into the prestigious Century Club, surpassing 100 pounds over the three days.
Mark White Takes the Co-Angler Lead
Napa, Calif. co-angler Mark White moved up from 3rd place on Day One with 23.37 pounds to the top of the leaderboard after an incredible Day Two. Fishing alongside pro Steve Hoover, White hauled in a 31.50-pound bag, bringing his total to 54.87 pounds.
“I had a solid first day, but today was even better,” White shared. His success came from using “silent reaction” techniques, targeting depths up to 15 feet. “I’ve been catching fish in the shallow to mid-range waters, mostly around four to eight feet,” he added. White is eager to replicate his success on Sunday.
White plans to go out and do it again on Sunday
